Col Mugabe calls for calmness, to contest for Bunyangabu's parliamentary seat

Col Robert Mugabe has called for calm in Bunyangabu as he waits to retire from the army. Sources say that Col. Mugabe a serving UPDF soldier has plans of contesting in the parliamentary elections during the 2021 general elections.

However, the public in Bunyangabu is not certain whether he will contest since he is still a serving army officer. But, Col Mugabe has called for calm.

Unconfirmed sources say that Col. Mugabe met the commander in chief of the armed forces president YoweriKaguta Museveni in April this year and asked him to retire from the army.

Speaking at a recent function in Bunyangabu, Col Mugabe assured residents of his readiness to contest in the parliamentary seat.

But he says that he is still waiting for the chief of defence forces to accept his request of retiring from the army.
