A crocodile has mauled a woman on Lake Albert shores in Kagadi district. The deceased is 24-year-old, Christine Nema, a resident of Rwebigongoro landing site in Ndaiga Sub county. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson told our reporter today that the crocodile grabbed Nema when she went to wash clothes on Lake Albert shores around 5pm yesterday evening. According to Hakiza, the crocodile abandoned the deceased’s mutilated body in the lake where it was found by local fishermen. Swaibu Katusabe, the chairperson Rwebigongoro Landing site decried the persistent crocodile attacks in the area. He has called upon Uganda Wild Life Authority-UWA to trap crocodiles from the area and relocate them. In September last year, 20-year-old Jessica Kabiira and her six-month old baby were grabbed by a crocodile at Ndaiga landing site in Kagadi district. The woman had gone to fetch water with her colleagues.
